People often refer to children as a gift from God. We truly believe this is the case, but we also know that our world can be a difficult place for children. For some this results in confusion, sadness, worry, nightmares, withdrawing, toileting struggles, difficulty concentrating, school struggles, etc. For others it presents in mild, moderate or even extreme behaviors that can escalate and become dangerous at times.
So many parents spend nights laying awake trying to figure out how to best help their children. We know that your children are very important to you, and they are important to us too. As parents, we know that we are parenting our children for the long-term. We are not only interested in helping them have positive experiences in life now, but we want them to learn strategies to deal with life’s difficulties in the future, even as adults.
We would love to partner with you to help your children experience life to the fullest. Sometimes that means finding ways to help them heal from past traumas, such as through specific therapy styles like Trauma-Informed Child Parent Psychotherapy or Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Sometimes parents are interested in learning strategies for helping their children improve their attachment, such as through Circle of Security or Trust-Based Relational Intervention. Whether you are concerned about your 1-year-old child or your 17-year-old teenager, we have many years of experience working with all ages. We also have specialized experience and training in foster care and adoption issues. If your child has experienced any of the following, or other struggles in life, we invite you to contact us to partner together to support you and your children in their journey.
